A multimillion-dollar hurricane shelter is on the way for the Brac, according to Cayman News Service, who reported that the government has already started work on the project.

The shelter will be located east and adjacent to the playing field on the bluff, with access near Major Donald Drive.

The two storey building will also have a main hall, sick bay, reception area and 80 private rooms.

The shelter will cost around $9 million and it should take about three years to complete.
