Members and supporters of the People Progressive Movement (PPM) took over downtown George Town Thursday night (22 July) and about 100 people came out to the opposition's political rally. It was held in the plaza next to the courthouse.
PPM members discussed issues like the economy, development and planning issues and work permit fees.
The PPM criticized the government, saying the country should not be afraid of the premier and should stand up against decisions made by the United Democrat Party. They took the government to task on issues like the planning law amendment and the new fuel duty fee.
All five members of the opposition were at the rally, which lasted about two hours.
